Prototype Self Priming Cosmopolitan Model 1859 Carbine

This prototype Model 1859 Cosmopolitan carbine, which is the only one of its kind, has been fitted with an automatic self priming system in the hammer. When the hammer is cocked, a cam system moves a plate on the underside of the hammer, which puts the primer into firing position.
