Prototype Model 1861 Deringer Percussion Rifle

Updated: May 5, 2021

Henry Deringer attempted to secure a Civil War arms contract with a prototype Model 1861 percussion rifle which was very similar to the Model 1817 guns that he produced in 1840. Somewhere between 200 and 1,000 were produced, with far fewer surviving today.

This gun will be available in the May 2021 sale from Lewis & Grant Auctions. Visit www.lewisandgrant.com for more info.

UPDATE: Sold for $1,840 including 15% buyer's premium.
